We are very proud to have our very own Leo Tobi receive this award. Below is the speech given by President Troy Stuebing Kitchener Westmount Rotary Club:
Every year at our Presidents night, the President gets to choose a Rotarian of the Year. We have has some great members in the past win this award the last five are Judy Narin, Karen Voisin, Cathy Loveys, Jerome Freiburger, and John Thompson. Great list right there.
This year I chose a member who exemplifies the Rotary Values of Service Above Self. This member is a constant at meetings, functions and helps with anything he can. As Co-Chair of a few of the most important committees in our club, one our Vacation Fantasy Lottery he helped us come to one of our top ticket sales in recent memory with over 3,000 tickets sold. As Co-Chair of our program committee he has a group committed to bringing us a variety of speakers every week which is very tough to do but we seem to consistently have great speakers … okay one or two slip through the vetting process.
All jokes aside this years Rotarian of the Year, a man of many hugs, the driving force behind many special events, silent auction items which raise thousands for many different organizations in our community and a man that every buffet is scared of, this years Kitchener Westmount Rotarian of the Year is … Leo Tobi
