Although I have been a participant on the coaching staff of the ‘04 Waterloo Wolves select group of hockey players, this year I have the privilege and responsibility to be sitting in the driver’s seat as the head coach.

I have a funny story to tell. My youngest son commented on our Instagram post after my personal monthly column was posted last month. What I found humorous and intelligent all at the same time was that he made the comment in third person and said “what about Sam, you haven’t mentioned anything about him but gave an update for everybody else in the family”.

I can hardly believe March break is over, let alone Easter! During the break week our family planned a day trip to Toronto. In order to accommodate everyone’s preferences we split into two groups.

Wayne Gretzky surprised the Waterloo Wolves Atom MD White team in Brantford with a rare appearance.

Hockey Hockey Hockey season is back! We are thrilled to now have all 3 of our children playing hockey. Our schedules are full and it is exciting.

This month’s personal column is all about HOCKEY! Most appropriate given that I coach in the NHL...the “Novice House League”, that is. I coach my 8 year old son’s hockey team: “the Flyers”.
