George Michaels RetiresA Radio Legend Retires (Almost)
A packed Waterloo Inn ballroom wished George Michaels, CHYM’s morning co-host of 31 YEARS, a preemptive fond farewell. (George will leave his morning post sometime in the next two months). Some 200 … Prime minister, mayors, colleagues, family, avid listeners and fans alike expressed George their best wishes as he embarks on retirement having spent 35 years at CHYM. As GM Mike Collins stated ‘achieving #1 rating for the entire 31 years as morning host with the same station is what legends are made of, simply ICONIC’. Stay tuned for some exciting news regarding the Rogers Radio Group and George Michaels, we were asked to keep it hush-hush. I personally will miss visiting George and Tara at the Rogers Radio Group’s Oktoberfest Pancake breakfast and sitting a few rows away as they announce the Thanksgiving Day parade. George, on behalf of everyone at Brentwood, we wish you all the very best, you will be missed!
